Hypnobirthing is a holistic approach to birth that incorporates relaxation techniques, physiology of birth and positive affirmations. The aim of my hypnobirthing course is to empower you. To build your confidence in your body and how it works, teach you how to make fully informed choices about your care, and to reduce any anxiety you may have about the process of giving birth. I can't guarantee you a perfect birth, but I can help you to feel in control, positive and empowered.
The course will teach you about the hormonal and physical changes that occur and how to embrace the sensations of birth. You will learn breathing techniques to help you to cope with these changes and to ensure that you feel calm and prepared during pregnancy and in the run up to your birth.
Hypnobirthing is for anyone expecting a baby regardless of the type of birth that they end up having. It offers you and your birth partner the perfect place to prepare for the birth of your child. Classes are relaxed and informal and I am realistic in my approach. Many of you will have a vaginal delivery but many women won’t and it is important to prepare you for a range of eventualities.
The course will take place over 4 x 2 hour sessions. During the course we will cover:
Session 1: Why Prepare for Birth; The Brain & Birth; The "Hypno" bit!
Session 2: The Hormones of Birth; Language for Birth
Session 3: Releasing Negative Thoughts; Preparing for Birth; Your Birth Plan; Your Birth Team
Session 4: Birth and Meeting Your Baby!
Each session includes a lovely relaxation and lots of practice of the breathing techniques.
Courses take place one evening a week for four consecutive weeks.
