I’m Rose, founder of The Birthing Well, Glasgow. I am a birth worker, mum, pre and postnatal yoga instructor and Hypnobirthing teacher. I’m on a mission to help you have a positive birth experience.
I gained a BSc in Midwifery in 2016 and worked as an NHS midwife in London and Glasgow for 7 years. Having supported many women and birthing people through pregnancy and birth, I feel passionate that a positive birth is about being fully informed and having an active role in the decisions made surrounding your care, and not necessarily about having a pain free and natural birth.
I have cared for many using Hypnobirthing techniques during labour and have seen what an amazing impact the techniques can have on people's experiences of birth. This was one of the main driving forces that led me to complete Hypnobirthing instructor training in 2018.
I have had two very different Hypnobirthing births, one in hospital and one at home.
I have practiced yoga for over 15 years and after having a very positive experience of yoga during pregnancy myself, I decided to train as a pregnancy yoga teacher with Sally Parkes. I found that yoga really helped my mental health during pregnancy and was one of the most positive things that I did.
I am passionate about supporting and empowering women to have a positive birth experience and believe that birth is beautiful no matter how it unfolds.
Having had two very challenging breastfeeding journeys, I have recently decided to further my breastfeeding education and I am currently training to be an IBCLC Lactation Consultant.
I live in Glasgow Southside with my husband, daughters and cat Stevie; I am a keen runner, cake lover and dream of one day moving to a remote Scottish Island.
